We're on the shore of Lake Nõuni in Nõuni village, Otepää parish, Valgamaa — in the heart of southern Estonia, about a half-hour drive from Tartu. We don't keep fixed opening hours — we operate by prior booking only. Bookings for our accommodation are open year-round. Water activities — windsurfing, eFoil, SUP and rowboat trips — run through the warmer season and always depend on the weather, so we recommend keeping an eye on the forecast.

Do I need any experience?

Prior experience is only needed if you want to rent eFoil or windsurfing gear. No experience is required for an eFoil lesson, a windsurfing lesson, or SUP and rowboat rental. Independent windsurf and eFoil rental is meant for those who can manage on their own.

Absolutely. SUP and the rowboat are relaxed, family-friendly activities for all skill levels. Windsurfing lessons and eFoil are suited to ages 12 and up, with no prior experience required — we tailor everything to your level. Minors take part together with a parent or guardian, being comfortable in the water is recommended, and safety vests are provided for everyone.

What's included in the house?

Our cosy 50 m² house sits right by Lake Nõuni and comfortably hosts two adults plus children. It has a private in-house electric sauna, a fully equipped kitchen, Wi-Fi, air conditioning and underfloor heating. The living room has a Smart Google TV (Netflix and Go3), a small pool table and table tennis, and a sofa bed; the bedroom has a 180 × 200 cm bed and blackout curtains. Outside you'll find a private swim pier, a grill area and a lakeside fire pit, plus a rowboat to take out on the water.

How many people can stay, and what are the sleeping arrangements?

The house is set up for two adults plus children. There's a 180 × 200 cm double bed in the bedroom and a fold-out sofa bed (160 × 120 cm) in the living room. A cot for little ones is coming soon, so just ask.

Is the sauna private?

Yes. The electric sauna is inside the house and is yours alone for the whole of your stay — no sharing with other guests. A hairdryer is provided.

Not at all. Our lessons are tailored to every level, from complete beginners to advanced riders, and focus on your specific goals — whether that's getting up on the board for the first time or refining your technique. If you already know how to sail, you can simply rent the gear and head out on your own.

What do I need to bring for a windsurfing lesson?

Bring swimwear, a towel, and sunscreen. For added comfort, you may also bring water shoes. We provide wetsuits and all necessary safety equipment as needed.

How long is a lesson?

A windsurfing course lasts about 2.5 hours: roughly 30 minutes of dry-land practice to learn the basics, around 1 hour 45 minutes on the water with an instructor guiding you from the rowboat, and a final 15 minutes to change. Courses can be booked for one or two people.

Can it be made easier for a beginner?

We have what's called an eFoil float, designed for beginners, that fits around the eFoil board. It increases the board's surface area and significantly improves stability on the water.

What is eFoiling and do I need experience?

Accepted Answer

An eFoil is an electric hydrofoil board that lifts you above the water and glides almost silently — no wind or waves needed. No experience is required: we have two boards, one of which can be set up to be beginner-friendly and the other for advanced riders, and every booking includes a guided briefing to get you started. It's suited to ages 12 and up.

What's included in an eFoil session?

Every booking includes safety equipment for each rider — a helmet, safety vest and wetsuit — along with instruction as needed. You can ride solo on your own board, book both boards for two, or share one board between two people and take turns.

What equipment do I need for eFoiling?

Accepted Answer

Regardless of your swimming ability, a helmet and an impact-absorbing safety vest are always mandatory when eFoiling. We provide the wetsuit and all other necessary safety equipment. Even in summer we strongly recommend wearing a wetsuit (neoprene suit). When the board lifts out of the water, the wind cools your body much faster, and a wetsuit also protects your skin from the hard slap of the water if you fall. We also recommend bringing water shoes or neoprene socks to protect your feet and toes from possible knocks against the foil; in colder water, neoprene socks are essential. Safety equipment helps reduce the risk of injury both on contact with the water and from hitting the board. Because an eFoil moves over the water at a relatively high speed (often 20–30 km/h) and falls happen faster than on, say, a SUP board, the safety requirements are a little stricter.

How much wind is suitable?

Wind isn't really an obstacle, but for a beginner it's more comfortable to come out for the first time when the wind is light and the waves are small.

Can I get my balance standing on the board the first time?

Yes, definitely — if you use our eFoil float (the 'floaty') that fits around the board and adds plenty of stability at the start. Most people get their first flight experience within just 30–60 minutes.

Do I need experience to try SUP?

None at all. Stand-up paddleboarding is one of the easiest and most relaxing ways to enjoy the water, and it suits all skill levels. After a few minutes you'll feel steady — whether you want a calm glide across the lake or a bit more of a workout.

The rental includes the board, paddle and a safety vest, and the price is per board — so it's easy to take the whole family out. Just bring swimwear, a towel and sunscreen.

What should I wear when going out on a SUP board?

In warm weather: ordinary swimwear, shorts or a light sports shirt that dries quickly work best. In cooler weather: we recommend a wetsuit (neoprene suit) or wind- and waterproof sportswear. On the board you're usually barefoot, as that gives the best balance and feel for the board. Whatever the weather, a safety vest is always mandatory for your safety.

What wind speed is safe (especially for beginners)?

0–4 m/s: ideal conditions for beginners and experienced riders alike. The water is mirror-smooth or lightly rippled and it's easy to keep your balance. 4–6 m/s: the water is slightly choppy. This already calls for good balance and physical effort, as paddling into the wind gets harder. Over 7 m/s: we don't recommend that beginners go out. Wind like this creates bigger waves and 'white horses' (breaking wave crests), which makes moving forward very hard and falling likely.

Is wind direction as important as wind speed?

Golden rule: always start your trip into the wind (for as long as you have energy). When you get tired, you can simply turn around and the wind will help you glide back to your starting point with less effort.

Basic rowing is quick to pick up. If you'd like, we can show you briefly. We provide safety vests. Feel free to ask for suggestions on a calm route around the lake.

The rental includes the boat, oars and safety vests. If you'd like, you can ask for an anchor on site. The boat seats up to four people.

Can I fish with my own rod?

Fishing is entirely at the angler's own risk. The angler is responsible for having all the necessary knowledge and permits and for following the applicable fishing regulations. If you'd like, ask for an anchor on site.
